  24. All the files belonging to GEMINI have become so space consuming that they
  25. don't fit on a single disk any more. We have added a lot of utilities and
  26. other things very useful to the user that we had to choose between two
  27. ways of distributing the whole thing.

  29. We could not put GEMINI on two disks, because a lot of people are sending
  30. us only one disk to get the new version. So we had to stuff it all on one
  31. floppy only. 
  32. We used the data compression program `lharc' to minimize the file sizes.
  33. This packer is public domain (thanks a lot to the author!) and you will
  34. find it on this disk too.

  36. Because decompressing files using lharc may be a little unhandy for users
  37. with GEM-experience only, we have made the archives self-extracting.
  38. Experienced users may use lharc nevertheless to extract files from the
  39. archives.
  40.  
  41. Those of you calling a hard disk their own just got to copy the three
  42. files GMNI12_1.TOS, GMNI12_2.TOS and GMNI12_3.TOS onto their hard disk.
  43. Then start these programs. They will make a folder named GMNI12UK and
  44. extract all the data to it.
  45.  
  46. WARNING: the archives and extracted data will take up 1.6 Megabytes on
  47. your disk. If you dont have enough space, these selfextracting will go
  48. wrong without reporting an error! (There is no error checking in the code)
  49. So we ask you to check the free space before.
  50.  
  51. If you dont have a hard disk or want to extract the data to a floppy disk
  52. for another reason, you will find the following hint useful:
  53. Rename all the TOS-programs to PRG (GMNI12_2.TOS -> GMNI12_2.PRG) and
  54. make the distribution disk write protected. Then start the program.
  55. Your atari will load the program and then complain about the write 
  56. protection of the disk. Then insert a blank formatted disk instead of
  57. the distribution disk and continue. The data will be extracted to the
  58. new disk!
  59. This little trick is only neccessary for GMNI12_2.TOS, because both
  60. extracted data and the archive won't even fit on a single disk.

  62. Don't be frightened by the amount of data of this distribution! To work
  63. with GEMINI you only need 600 Kilobytes of space on your disk. The rest
  64. contains documentations and utilities you will not need every day.
